Pure travelling pleasure: the P1.18 simply works – maintenance-free and permanently optimal function. Extreme climates, stone impact, sand, water and many thousands of miles cannot affect the P1.18. The huge ratio bandwidth combined with the even and very finely spaced gear steps permits comfortable travel over long distances with the pedalling rate that you find most comfortable.
The latest Pinion generation now offers even more shifting comfort. We have further optimised shift latches and cam shafts. as a result, shifting has become even smoother. The result: comprehensively silky-smooth running without any clicking noises in any of the 18 gears.

REAL GEARS
Real gears refer to the gear steps of a bicycle transmission that can be optimally used. In derailleur gears, the skewed running of the chain leads to significant losses of efficiency. In addition, when there are two or three front sprockets there will be redundant, i.e. equivalent, gears. A 3×10 derailleur transmission, for example, actually only offers 14 or 15 real gears from this perspective.
