E-Bike WM Ischgl 2024

On September 7, 2024, the time had come: the E-Bike World Championships for everyone in Ischgl – and we were there for the first time with a small but dedicated Pinion team! With 1,309 participants, 1,068 of them in the Everyone field and 241 in the Elite field, the event was a complete success and broke all records.

The Pinion Factory Team showed full commitment on the challenging elite course, which covered 38 kilometers and over 1,250 meters of altitude. The course demanded everything from the riders: steep climbs, technically demanding forest paths, root carpets and long pushing passages. The downhill was no less challenging, with demanding trails and fast flow descents. Thanks to the reliable performance of the Pinion MGUs, the riders overcame every challenge, demonstrating remarkable endurance and team spirit.

In the team ranking, the Pinion Factory Team secured 6th place – an outstanding result!

Thanks to the Pinion MGU, I was able to shift gears precisely at all times
and under all conditions – a decisive advantage, especially when racing.

perfect weather, a phenomenal atmosphere and great results.

Pinion MGU

As a team leader in software development, I work actively on the MGU,
especially on new features and testing. At the event, I had the opportunity
to test a new feature directly.

Conclusion

The MGU was convincing in racing, especially uphill. While others were struggling
with chain problems, I was able to simply pass them – a real highlight!

Shifting gears in any situation, regardless of the pedal position,
offers decisive advantages and saves valuable seconds.

Conclusion

The experience was exciting. The highlights were the downhill sections,
where the bike definitely scored points.

Pinion MGU

The advantage of the Pinion MGU is the lower rotating mass on the rear triangle,
which makes the bike significantly lighter and more agile. The MGU reduces
the risk of damaging the rear derailleur, especially when riding on trails,
through narrow passages or over sharp-edged stones.

Conclusion

The motivation to take part in a race and compete for Pinion as part of a team
was great. It was particularly fun to ride the trails with Maxim before the race
and explore the route.
