We designed the MGU to integrate seamlessly into the silhouette of any e-bike, creating an entirely new, exceptionally clean look. Without fragile, exposed derailleurs and bulky cassettes, bikes equipped with the Pinion E-Drive System appear as a single, cohesive unit. In other words, the Pinion E-Drive System sets new standards in integration.

The combination of motor and gearbox at the center of the frame not only ensures a clean design, but also delivers an exceptionally dynamic riding experience. With a low center of gravity, optimal weight distribution and a protected design, the e-bike rides more agile, stable and precise – whether in everyday use, on long tours or in demanding terrain.
Whether discreetly integrated or prominently displaying all ride data – the choice of display is yours. Complemented by the electronic TE1 E-Trigger for precise shifting. Combined with powerful batteries and advanced sensor technology. Everything is perfectly coordinated so that control, shifting performance and riding dynamics merge into one seamless system.

wear-free motor

A state-of-the-art, compact and wear-free brushless motor for industrial applications, made in Germany. Extensively modified and specifically engineered for use in an e-bike.

Up to 160 Nm at the
rear wheel

The MGU delivers massive power directly to the ground. The combination of gearbox and motor in one unit provides up to 160 Nm of torque at the rear wheel in the first four gears – more than any other system.

Perfect
shifting performance

Depending on the configuration, the Pinion MGU gearbox offers 12 or 9 gears with highly precise and reliable electronic shifting.

Smart.Shift
features

The Pinion Smart.Shift system shifts while riding, at a standstill and under load. It can change multiple gears at once in fractions of a second.

maintenance-free

Encased in a sealed and fully protected housing. No exposed, fragile derailleur, no adjustments needed. The maintenance interval? A quick 10-minute oil change after 10,000 km. That’s it. Really.

Less load
at the rear

With no derailleur or cassette at the rear wheel, unsprung mass is significantly reduced – resulting in improved suspension performance.
