PINION CI-GEARBOX SYSTEM OVERVIEW
Ci-Gearbox
Pinion Smart.Shift is an innovative electronic shifting system for Pinion gearboxes of the Ci-Line, which are based on the C-Line. They are available with 12, 9 or 6 gears.
SMART.SHIFT BOX
The Smart.Shift Box controls the electronic shifting of the Smart.Shift gearbox. It transmits the shifting signal from the E-Trigger directly to the gearbox.
E-TRIGGER TE1
The ergonomic TE1 shifter was specifically developed for electronic shifting with Pinion Smart.Shift technology. Button functions can be individually configured.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR
RIDE EXPERIENCE
The Pinion Smart.Shift system features its own battery and a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) interface, enabling connection with the new Pinion Smart.Shift app. Through the app, shifting behaviour and button assignments can be individually customized – functions such as Start.Select and Pre.Select can be optionally activated and configured. Battery status, software updates and a practical service tool are always clearly accessible.
MORE RIDE TIME.
LESS CHARGING TIME.
Thanks to its highly optimized gearbox, Pinion Smart.Shift delivers more than 20,000 shifts or up to 100 riding hours per charge. On bicycles without an electric drive, power is supplied by a dedicated Pinion battery pack integrated in or mounted to the down tube and charged directly on the bike. On e-bikes, Smart.Shift is powered directly by the existing e-bike battery – no additional battery pack required./p>

PINION GEARBOXES
OF THE Ci-LINE
Structure of the Gearbox Types
All Pinion gearboxes are built from two sequentially arranged sub-gear units. The individual gears are derived from the combination of these two stages with their different gear pairs.
The C1.12 gearbox consists of a 4-speed stage followed by a 3-speed stage – a 4 × 3 gearbox layout. The C1.9 gearbox uses a 3 × 3 gearbox layout.
The C1.12i gearbox is the shifting reference for everyday riders, commuters and touring cyclists. Its 12 finely spaced gears deliver an unrivalled gear range and exceptional riding comfort.
Commuters and MTB enthusiasts love the pure efficiency of the C1.9i. This gearbox type is optimized for applications where larger gear steps are an advantage.
