THREE PINION E-BIKES AWARDED THE DESIGN & INNOVATION AWARD

11. February 2025

Pinion’s innovative strength has once again been recognized: At the renowned Design & Innovation Award, three e-bikes with Pinion technology won over the expert jury. The winning bikes are: The Flyer Upstreet TR:CF 7.63 HS, the Kettler Pinniato FS Sport and the Desiknio Dopamine Smart.Shift.
And this is what the jury wrote:

Flyer Upstreet TR:CF 7.63 HS
“As one of the first S-Pedelecs to feature Pinion’s low-maintenance Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU), the sleek carbon frame also houses a Gates belt drive. Say goodbye to shifting issues under load and when stationary. Even better: it includes an automatic shifting function, so you can forget about gear changes altogether if you want…”

Kettler Pinniato FS Sport
“…Cutting-edge technology ensures maximum comfort, making this trekking bike a true all-in-one package: step-through frame, suspension front and rear, Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit with 960 Wh battery, a low-maintenance belt drive, and a dropper seatpost – just to name the key features…”

Desiknio Dopamine Smart.Shift
“…The result? A smooth 55 Nm of motor assistance with a total weight of just 14 kg, an electronic shifting (even while stationary and under load), and an impressive 568% gear range, which ensures plenty of pedal power even on steep descents…”

The Design & Innovation Award is considered one of the most important awards in the bicycle industry and evaluates products not only in terms of design, but also in terms of innovation, performance and practicality. The award is presented by an independent team of experts consisting of journalists, test riders and engineers.
