PINION MGU WINS THE VR INNOVATIONS AWARD
The Pinion MGU, the world's first fully integrated motor gearbox unit for e-bikes, was awarded the Audience Award at the VR INNOVATIONs Award 2025. The award ceremony took place on July 10 as part of the VR Innovation Congress at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden in front of over 1,000 guests from the worlds of business, SMEs and finance.
WITH THE MONOPOLE THROUGH THE DESERT
French photographer and cyclist Stéphane Chalmeau rides not one, but two MONoPOLE bikes. He uses one for his daily commute - compact, functional and equipped with a Pinion gearbox. The other has carried him through Spain: at the Desertus Bikus, one of the toughest ultracycling races in Europe.
PINION MGU BECOMES PART OF THE NEW MOUNTAIN BIKE EXHIBITION AT THE DEUTSCHES MUSEUM
With the official handover of a Pinion MGU (Motor.Gearbox.Unit) and a Bulls Vuca EVO AM 2 to the Deutsches Museum in Munich, these innovative products from Pinion and Bulls become part of the new mountain biking exhibition set to open in fall 2025. Already now, the MGU and the Vuca EVO AM 2 are on display in the museum's entrance area – as technological highlights and symbols of the future of cycling.
PINION GEARBOXES ARE REVOLUTIONIZING DOWNHILL RACING: NEW PARTNERSHIPS WITH TOP TEAMS AND WORLD-CLASS RIDERS
Pinion, the pioneer of innovative transmission technology in the bicycle sector, is marking another milestone in international racing. In addition to long-standing bike partners Zerode and Gamux in downhill racing, other renowned teams will be competing with newly developed gearbox bikes in the 2025 season. AON Racing, Continental Atherton Racing, Intense Factory Racing and MS Racing will be fighting for every second on the toughest tracks in the world with Pinion gearbox bikes.
WITH THE TALLBIKE FROM MUNICH TO PEKING
A special adventure starts on May 1st: Tommaso Weller, known as @tallbiketommy, sets off on an epic journey together with his friend Jakob. Their destination? From Munich to Beijing - on a self-built Tallbike equipped with a P1.18 Pinion gearbox!
PINION STRENGHTENS DEALER LOYALTY WITH PRACTICAL MGU TRAININGS
A successful bike season starts with well-trained specialist dealers. That's why Pinion has launched a comprehensive training program together with system partner FIT in the winter months of 2024/2025 to optimally prepare specialist dealers for the latest technologies. The high demand shows that technical know-how is a decisive success factor in consulting, sales and service.
PINION SCORES POINTS IN GRAVEL BIKE COMPARISON TEST
The comparison test by Gran Fondo contrasts two high-end gravel bikes: the Falkenjagd Aristos R with Rohloff hub gears and the Rennstahl 853 PI with Pinion transmission. The result impressively shows why Pinion is the future-proof choice for many.
While the Rohloff hub scores with 14 gears, the Pinion gearbox offers 18 finely graduated gears and central placement for better weight distribution. In addition, the electronic Smart.Shift system enables lightning-fast gear changes, even under load or when stationary.

At Velofollies in Belgium, the most important cycling trade fair in the Benelux region, Santos Bikes unveiled its latest Pinion bikes – now equipped with Pinion Smart.Shift technology. Two new e-bikes, the Travelmaster E+ and the LowStep, are now available with Pinion Smart.Shift and a powerful Neodrives rear motor. This combination ensures seamless, intuitive shifting performance and an effortless riding experience – perfect for long tours and everyday use.
