Behind the triple constellation “Pinion X Mahle X Desiknio” is an E-light drive integration of the next generation!
New for the first time for the model year 2024 is the combination of Pinion Smart.Shift and the intelligent and lightweight Mahle drive system. It was developed in collaboration with Desiknio Cycles.

The Spanish manufacturer’s unique e-light bikes are the first to combine the maintenance-free Pinion transmission with Smart.Shift technology, a Gates belt drive made of carbon, and the Mahle X20 or X30 hub motor system to create a worry-free and innovative drivetrain for stylish, lightweight e-bikes.

The Desiknio X20 Pinion Smart.Shift features a 250W hub motor, 240Wh integrated battery and central shifting, and weighs less than 15kg.

Our long-standing partner Schindelhauer from Berlin is launching five new models with the Mahle X20 system. Specifically, this means that the Arthur, Antonia, Emil and Emilia models have been given an e-bike upgrade. All models are equipped with either a Pinion C1.6 or C1.9 classic gearbox, work perfectly with the Mahle X20 system and, thanks to the 55 Nm torque drive, get their riders to their destination quickly and comfortably.

Urwahn Bikes is setting new standards in the e-bike sector with its new Urban and Gravel series. The STADTFUCHS and WALDWIESEL models are now even lighter, faster and smarter thanks to innovative 3D printing technology and high-tech drives, namely our Pinion Smart.Shift gearbox (either C1.9i or C1.12i). While the drive specialist from southern Germany presented an absolute world first last year with the MGU, this year’s Eurobike also has exciting news to announce: In addition to the fully automatic MGU, which will be available via a software update from Q3 2024, other strong bike brands are also relying on the Pinion E-Drive system. And the Smart.Shift technology in conjunction with strong system partners is increasingly being used on bikes with and without drive.
